This is a sad day for the American Middle Class, which was largely built on the sweat of union members. Our Supreme Court has gutted the law in effect for more than 40 years requiring that every worker who benefits from union contracts should share the burden of paying for union representation. Right wing interests have fought for this for a long time. Today, they have a prized win. While we believe in the rule of law and will certainly respect and abide by the decision, this is yet another painful example of the danger that governing from the extreme yields. All the more reason for each of us to vote in November.
