MTA Tax Eliminated for Small Businesses

Small businesses with payrolls under $1.25 million will become exempt as a result of legislation supported by Assemblyman Charles Lavine. The bill will affect almost 72,000 Long Island businesses and will amount to almost a quarter of a billion dollars in savings. Businesses with payrolls between $1.25 million and $1.7 million will see a significant reduction in their tax rates.
